About Loxie

Loxie is a proud third generation District 2 resident who has now set down roots with her own family- her husband and 5 year old daughter- in her hometown of Pacific Beach.

She is a graduate of Pacific Beach Elementary, Muirlands Middle, La Jolla High and San Diego State University. You might recognize her from her time working for local sports teams, first as a member of the San Diego Padres Pad Squad, then later as the in-game host for Petco Park and the San Diego Gulls. Her path shifted when she became a mom in 2015, pushing her to dedicate her life towards creating world she wished for her daughter to grow up in.

In her youth, Loxie realized that the injustices she saw while seeking help for her own abuse case spanned across all vulnerable and marginalized populations. Her disappointment turned to resolve as she now aims towards being on the ground inside our governmental systems to establish a society that cares for our everyone no matter of race, gender, sexuality, and age.

Knowing the importance of using privilege to elevate necessary messaging, Loxie has been a dedicated member of San Diego activist/organizing circles by serving as a whistleblower, child advocate, and being a voice for children of all backgrounds facing adversity across our county.

Although known mostly for her work with children’s causes, Loxie seeks to work within immigration issues, humanitarian crises, racial justice, and governmental transparency.

What does a City Council member do?

The City Council is the Legislative branch of our strong mayoral City government. The city is equally split up into nine districts that each elect a Councilmember. It is their power to introduce ordinances and resolutions that would alter the governing documents, as well as serve on council committees.

Why is it Important?

Councilmembers are vital to the efficacy and transparency of our local government. Whether it is regarding the City budget or public safety, a Councilmember is to represent their district’s best interest as well as maintain popular trust in local government and improve citizen experience.

Am I a voter in District 2?

District 2 is currently structured as representing voters in Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Bay Park, Bay Ho, Mission Bay, North Bay, Morena, Midway, and Linda Vista. The zip codes of District 2 are 92117, 92111, 92109, 92108, 92107, & 92106.

How do I vote?

This is the part we are still waiting on an answer for. As of right now, there is a Recall effort underway that will most likely take place sometime in the second half of 2020. If that special election is successful, District 2 voters will have the option to keep or recall Councilmember Campbell as well as pick a candidate of their choice should she be recalled.

Otherwise, there will be a primary election in June of 2022 where Loxie will challenge Campbell as the incumbent and/or other candidates for the position.

This is why it is so important to sign up below to be notified of what transpires over the next few months.
